Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Research in Political Science and Public Administration (IJRPSPA) is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes original research in the fields of Political Science, Public Administration, Governance, Public Policy, International Relations, Development Studies, and related interdisciplinary social science domains.

Authors are invited to submit high-quality manuscripts that contribute to academic advancement and policy innovation. The journal follows internationally recognized scholarly publishing practices consistent with ISSN International Centre guidelines and standard academic publishing norms.


1. Manuscript Submission

Electronic submission of manuscripts is strongly encouraged. Authors must submit their manuscript as a single Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) containing the complete text, tables, figures, and references.

The journal accepts submissions only through electronic mail attachments. Authors will receive an acknowledgement email after successful submission.


2. Types of Manuscripts

IJRPSPA publishes the following categories of scholarly manuscripts:

Research Articles
Research articles present original research findings, theoretical developments, policy analysis, or empirical studies. The methodology and results must be clearly described for validation and reproducibility.

Short Communications
Short Communications report concise findings, emerging policy insights, or preliminary research results. These manuscripts are shorter but must maintain academic rigor.

Review Articles
Review papers summarize and critically analyze recent developments in political science, governance, and public administration. They should highlight research trends and future directions.

All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by subject experts.


3. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English.

The manuscript should be prepared in Microsoft Word format and organized in the following structure:
• Title
• Author(s) Name and Affiliation
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Introduction
• Literature Review (if applicable)
• Methodology
• Results / Findings
• Discussion
• Conclusion
• Acknowledgement (optional)
• References


4. Manuscript Formatting

Layout:
Single column format throughout the manuscript.

Font:
Times New Roman, 12-point font.

Title:
Bold, centered, and written in sentence case with capital letters for important words.

Authors:
Author names should appear below the title followed by full institutional affiliation including department, institution, city, country, and email address.

Abstract:
The abstract should summarize objectives, methodology, key findings, and significance.
Length: 150–250 words. No references, tables, or figures.

Keywords:
Provide 4–6 keywords separated by semicolons.
Example:
Public Policy; Governance; Political Science; Administration; Development Studies


5. Figures and Illustrations

Figures must be clear, properly labeled, and placed appropriately in the manuscript.

• Prefer grayscale unless color is necessary
• Each figure must have a caption
• Number sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.)
• Use high-resolution images


6. Tables

Tables must be created using MS Word table tools (not images).

• Number sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.)
• Include clear captions
• Cite tables within the text


7. Equations and Mathematical Expressions (if applicable)

Equations should be created using the MS Word Equation Editor.

• Number equations sequentially
• Place equation numbers on the right side in parentheses
• Define all symbols used


8. Methodology

This section must clearly describe:

• Research design and approach
• Data collection methods
• Analytical tools or frameworks
• Sources of data (primary/secondary)

The description should allow replication and verification of results.


9. References and Citation Style

References should follow a numbered citation style similar to IEEE format.

In-text citations:
[1], [2–5], [3, p. 105]

Reference examples:

Book:
Author Name, Book Title, Publisher, Year, pp. xx–xx.

Journal Article:
Author Name, “Article Title,” Journal Name, vol., no., year, pp. xx–xx.

Conference Paper:
Author Name, “Paper Title,” Conference Name, Location, Year, pp. xx–xx.

Website:
Organization Name, Title, Available: URL. Accessed on: Date.


10. Ethical Standards

IJRPSPA follows internationally accepted ethical publishing standards.

Authors must ensure:
• Original and unpublished work
• Not under review elsewhere
• Proper citation of sources
• No plagiarism or data fabrication

All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection tools.


11. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors must submit a signed Copyright Transfer Form or Publication Agreement.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use copyrighted material.


12. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process:

  1. Initial editorial screening
  2. Reviewer assignment
  3. Peer review and comments
  4. Author revision
  5. Final decision

Review timeline: approximately 2–4 weeks.


13. Proofs and Publication

Accepted manuscripts are copyedited, formatted, and typeset.
Authors will receive proofs for final approval before publication.
